Kahramanmaras: A Vacation to Remember Forever

During this vacation, we will capture photos and videos, including aerial shots with a drone, which we will share in the group app. This complimentary service, provided by Wandelvakanties Turkije.nl, ensures you will have beautiful lasting memories of this splendid holiday.

This vacation can only be booked on a full board basis, which includes breakfast, packed lunches for your backpack during the day, and warm evening meals.

The vacation package includes all transfers within Turkey, as well as knowledgeable guides and escorts during the hikes.

Embark on a journey to the hidden paradise of Kahramanmaras, starting from either Gaziantep or Kahramanmaras airports, where we will arrive by plane. From the airport, we will take a short trip to the Döngel Life Bungalows, our home for the upcoming period, nestled in the secret oasis of Kahramanmaras. Here, you can unwind in our wooden rooms surrounded by cherry trees, enjoying a breathtaking view of the turquoise lake.

After resting, we will gather in the restaurant of our bungalow resort, where everything is organic, and savor the delightful dishes from Kahramanmaras’ delectable cuisine while overlooking the lake. Following dinner, we’ll enjoy a campfire under the stars and the full moon, engaging in conversation before retiring to our rooms for the night.

On the second day, we will start our day at the Döngel Life Bungalows with a traditional breakfast before continuing our journey to the Döngel Caves, adorned with rugged rocks and cliffs. We will complete our hike, beginning at the Döngel Caves and passing through the Kısık Valley, the icy waters of Tekirin, and ending at the mesmerizing visual display of the Green Eye. This hike is of moderate difficulty.

After the hike, we will return to the resort for dinner and some relaxation. The day will conclude with a campfire, music, and entertainment.

On the third day, after enjoying breakfast at the resort, we will prepare for an exhilarating trip to the snow-capped peak of Uludaz Hill, located east of the Amanos Mountains, where we will encounter thousands of seven-spotted ladybugs. You will be amazed by the vibrant red spectacle created by the ladybugs awakening in the summer, reminiscent of polar bears emerging from hibernation. We will also visit Sir Dam and Düldül Mountain, making a stop at Büyüksır village and indulging in the beauty of cherry orchards along the way.

Prepare for an enchanting tour to the Uğurböcekleri (ladybugs) at an altitude of 2,259 meters, where the dancing clouds will captivate us. Today, especially, remember to bring your camera or mobile phone to capture stunning photos, as we will be above the clouds and witness the sunset.

On the fourth day, we will enjoy breakfast and take a walk through the refreshing waters of the Toprakhisar Canyon, occasionally swimming and admiring the Galgamaç Waterfall and the giant cauldrons. Then, we will be transported back to our bungalow resort for dinner and relaxation.

5th Day

After breakfast at the resort, we will embark on a 10-kilometer hike to the Ağıllı Plateau, featuring a moderate level of difficulty. After the hike, we will return to the resort for dinner.

6th Day

After breakfast at the resort, we will visit the former Armenian settlement of Süleymanlı (Zeytun) Village, where we will explore historical fountains, churches, and bridges. Next, we will take a stroll along the stone-paved Silk Road and Spice Route. After this adventurous walk, we will take a dip in the hot springs of the Ilıca area and savor a local specialty called Ilıca tava.

Then, you will have some free time for shopping at the market, where you can find local products. Later, we will gather at our minivan to return to our hotel. In the evening, we will conclude the day with a cozy campfire, a glass of red wine, and live guitar music.

7th Day

After breakfast, we will head to Başkonuş Yayla, situated in vast forests where deer reside, for a nature walk. We will begin at the ancient Roman ruins of Yenicekale and complete the hike through the forest, enjoying the melodious bird songs. Then, we will return to the resort from Başkonuş Yayla.

We will prepare for the transfer to the airport to return to our own homes.
