“Hiking on the Datca Peninsula – Program for an Unforgettable Hiking Holiday in Turkey

During your hiking holiday, you will stay at Villa Anfora, a charming boutique hotel with 19 rooms, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere. The hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the city center and the beach. Additionally, there is a delightful market (mainly food) near the hotel every Saturday, just 200 meters away. Nestled on a tranquil road with minimal traffic, the hotel boasts an outdoor pool and table tennis facilities.

Day 1: We will pick you up from either Bodrum or Dalaman airport and transport you to Villa Anfora hotel in Datca. The transfer time is approximately two and a half hours, but the journey is truly worthwhile.

Day 2: After breakfast, we will embark on our first hike. Today, we will traverse the picturesque Lovers Lane (Sevgi Yolu) to Burgaz, where the first citizens of Datca resided over 2000 years ago. Along the way, we will encounter ancient stone wine coolers, a historic harbor, and remnants of ancient walls. Our journey continues to the village of Kizlan, where you can explore six old flour mills. If you’re up for it, we can also indulge in wine tasting at a nearby vineyard, offering an opportunity to purchase some exquisite bottles of wine. These can be enjoyed on your balcony in the evening, accompanied by a romantic sea view (Approximate price for a bottle of wine: 12 euros).

Day 3: After breakfast, we will pick you up from Villa Anfora and drive to Emecik (30 km) to commence our hike. Today’s trail will lead us through rough terrain, offering breathtaking sea views along the way. Capture stunning photographs guaranteed to leave lasting memories. After the hike, we will return to Datca.

Day 4: After breakfast, we will proceed to Palamutbuku (35 km) and begin our hike towards Knidos. Today’s trail is slightly more challenging due to its steepness. However, tomorrow, you will have a full day to relax and unwind.

Day 5: No hiking today! It’s time to relax or explore the city center for some souvenir shopping.

Day 6: After breakfast, we will head to Karaincir for a hike in Gavruderisi. This scenic trail follows the river, occasionally crossing dry riverbeds or flowing streams, until we reach the beach. From there, we will continue to the ancient Yellow Harbor before returning to our hotel in Datca.

Day 7: After breakfast, we will embark on a hike from our hotel to Eski Datca. Take some free time to explore this village, known for its Greek houses and the stories written by Can Yucel, a renowned Turkish writer who found inspiration in a corner café. Don’t miss the chance to try goat milk ice cream and almond coffee—a unique culinary experience. From Eski Datca, we will hike to Hizirsah village, where you can immerse yourself in the authentic village life and enjoy a cup of tea at a local’s house. Throughout the journey, you will encounter goats, chickens, and a breathtaking mountain path. Along the way from Eski Datca to Hizirsah, we will visit a church and a silk atelier, where handmade silk blouses and shawls are available at reasonable prices (approximately 60 euros for a fully handmade blouse). Finally, we will return to the hotel.

Day 9: Enjoy another day at your leisure, allowing you to unwind and engage in activities of your choice.

Day 10: On the final day of your hiking holiday, we will arrange transportation to either Bodrum or Dalaman airport for your return flight home. We sincerely hope to welcome you back on one of our future hiking holidays.
